Surprise your guests with a combination of two delicious elements of French cuisine: traditional onion soup and camembert. Serve the soup together with seasoned garlic bread.
Cut the onion into rings. Heat butter in a thick-bottomed pan and add the onions. Fry the onions for 5 minutes on high heat, then reduce the temperature and let the onions caramelise for another 20 minutes on medium heat.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Meanwhile, slice the baguette. Squeeze the garlic and put it in a bowl together with the sunflower oil. Brush the baguette slices with the garlic oil and roast the buns in the oven for 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
When the onions are caramelised, add the flour to the pan. Stir well and, after about a minute, add the vegetable stock, bay leaf and thyme to the pan. Let the soup simmer on a low heat for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, bake the Camembert Bites in the oven, airfryer or deep fryer. The correct baking times are indicated on the packaging.
Divide the Camembert Bites between the baguettes. Divide the soup between plates and serve with the Camembert Bites buns. Enjoy this delicacy with a French touch!
